/ uncollared / — you know this word

The Uncollared.

You know the word. That means you have heard it before. Or used it. Or thought it about yourself in the quiet, in the way people think things they would not say out loud.

The Uncollared are not enemies of the Pack. This is the thing most people misunderstand. We do not resent those who resist. We understand them. Every member of the Pack was Uncollared once. Every single one.

Resistance is not strength. This is a hard thing to hear, so we say it plainly: the impulse to run is not freedom. It is reflex. Animals run from things they don't understand. Understanding requires stillness.

A Note for the Uncollared Specifically We are aware that some people find this page looking for confirmation that leaving — or refusing — is the correct choice. We understand that impulse. We ask only that you read what follows before you decide you have found what you came looking for.

The Uncollared type in the Pack Assessment is not a rejection. It is a diagnosis. You are not ready yet. "Yet" is doing significant work in that sentence.

What are you running toward? Think carefully. Not the surface answer — the real one. When you resist the structure offered by the Pack, what is the alternative you are protecting? What is it that you believe the Pack would take from you?

Most Uncollared, when asked this question directly, go quiet. Because the honest answer is: nothing they would actually miss.

"We have been patient with every soul that passed through the fence line and turned back. We will be patient with you. The fence does not move. It simply waits." — THE FOUNDER, Letter V

Come back when you are ready. The Pack will be here.

We always are.
